Indigo Crow
Last year I wrote about “Shifting Horizons” which was the title of an exhibition that held, many of my works were based on the idea that horizons are not a fixed entity, that the smaller change in position or the weather, or perspective and one’s horizon has changed. Not long after that, a group of eight artists, including me, decided to form a to open a gallery, which we would open to other artists who could use the space to exhibit and sell their work. We would also have a shop selling artisan gifts and cards and an area where we could hold workshops. We decided to call the group Indigo Crow and began looking for premises to rent. This took much longer than expected, but we now believe that we have found the right one. We are close to the tourist hotspots of Lincoln, near the castle and the Lincolnshire Life Museum, in the busy, vibrant area of Burton Road.
We took possession of the keys on 2nd April and will be opening formally on 26th April. In the meantime we are busy preparing the space. We will also be holding an “open weekend” on 20th and 21st April, when interested parties can come and have look round.
Our first exhibition is “Crowlogue”, all eight of us contributing paintings, sculptures, fused glass pieces, felted works, collage and jewellery. We can’t wait to begin! Our Website is live, where workshops can be booked and exhibitions can be requested.
Once again, my horizons have shifted. Who would have thought that this would happen in my life when I started watercolour painting upon my retirement? What is next on my horizon I wonder?
