Creative Lincs Art Trail

It was over a year ago that a group of us artists in Creative Lincs thought that it would be good idea to organise an art trail, open studios event. Maybe if I had known then about everything else that was to come, like also deciding to open a gallery and shop and the timing of that, the event would never have got off the ground. There have been many moments when I have thought “why am I doing this?” and “I am too old to be chasing round after a bunch of artists who don’t read e-mails” - herding cats springs to mind. But I persevered, and with the help of others with the graphics for the advertising and press releases, the event will take place this coming weekend, June 29th and 30th.

32 artists have signed up to take part, some in their own studios, some sharing a large room in a purpose built art space in a village close to Lincoln, and some in Indigo Gallery near the historic heart of the city. Because I am in the process of selling my house, my open studio will be in a “borrowed studio”. You can find all of the details on the Indigo Crow website.

Will we do this again next year? We will wait until after the event, when we know how many visitors we get before we deicide. One thing is for sure, we have learned a lot about how not to certain things, and there will be some changes made in the booking and payment procedures. Fingers crossed for fine weather, lots of visitors and sales!
